Drawdown recovery calculator
Recovering from a drawdown needs a bigger percentage gain than the loss, because the gain is earned on a smaller balance. The gain needed is drawdown ÷ (1 − drawdown). A 20% loss needs 25%, a 50% loss needs 100%, and a 75% loss needs 300%.

How it is calculated
Gain needed = d ÷ (1 − d), with d as a fraction
Worked example
A 30% drawdown takes 1,00,000 to 70,000. Getting back to 1,00,000 needs 30,000 on 70,000, which is 42.9%.

Questions
Why does a small risk per trade matter so much?
Because deep drawdowns need disproportionately large gains to repair. Keeping losses small keeps recovery possible.
